A bold new digital platform is reimagining how African culture is accessed, expressed, and appreciated. Kulturely, created by Kulturely Ltd, has officially launched in the United Kingdom, introducing an experience marketplace built entirely around African identity and lived experience.
Kulturely’s premise is simple yet groundbreaking: everyday cultural life—from how people cook and socialise to how they navigate a city or share stories—can be turned into meaningful, bookable experiences. Africans in the diaspora can now earn income by hosting these micro-experiences, while guests gain access to a form of cultural connection rarely offered in mainstream tourism: genuine human interaction.
The platform has already sparked significant interest. Since its soft launch on December 1, 2025, more than 1,480 people have joined the waitlist, and over 320 hosts across the UK are being onboarded. Its entry comes at a pivotal time, tapping into the UK’s expansive £134 billion experience economy and engaging a global African diaspora of more than 350 million people.
In a country home to 1.5 million Africans, Kulturely responds to growing demand for deeper cultural connection—both from diaspora communities seeking belonging and from locals and travellers eager to experience African culture beyond surface-level encounters. By placing real people at the centre of cultural exchange, the platform moves away from staged activities and toward moments rooted in authenticity and identity.
Kulturely was built to address gaps felt acutely within the diaspora: the loneliness of migration, the absence of culturally affirming spaces, and the lack of income opportunities that value identity as expertise. At the same time, many culture-curious individuals have long sought trustworthy ways to engage with African heritage but lacked access to genuine, people-led experiences.
The platform bridges these divides by turning lived experience into an economic asset, empowering Africans to share what they know intrinsically—food traditions, language, humour, music, lifestyle—and earn from it. Guests benefit from a safe, warm, and direct entry into African culture, guided by individuals rather than institutions.
Kulturely serves a wide audience: Africans seeking to express culture and earn from it; students and newcomers looking to build community; travellers and locals wanting authentic cultural engagement; and broader communities that benefit from increased visibility and reduced social isolation.
By focusing on human connection rather than tourism conventions, Kulturely positions itself in a new category altogether: identity-led cultural micro-experiences. No other platform is fully dedicated to African cultural expression or designed to monetise lifestyle and personality in this way.
“Our culture shows up in everything we do—from the jokes we tell to the food we grew up eating,” said Daniel Iloh, Founder of Kulturely. “Kulturely finally gives Africans a way to earn from this without having to change who they are.”
Co-founder Etoroma Genesis noted, “What we’re creating is a safe, human gateway into African culture—an experience people remember because it’s real. And for Africans in the diaspora, it’s an income stream powered solely by authenticity.”
With strong early traction and a model built for global expansion, Kulturely plans to roll out across the UK before moving into Europe, the United States, and Africa.
