The Chief Executive Officer of Fresh Diamond Exchange, Comrade Oladele Oluwafemi Emmanuel, has said he started the annual six-aside football tournament in Ife North State Constituency of Osun State to discover and nurture talents in the area.
He stated this at the closing ceremony of the second edition of the completion at the weekend.
Emmanuel, a youth leader and advocate, opined that bringing youths together is also an avenue for them to interact and collaborate on thing that would help develop their communities.
Speaking on this year’s competition, he said, “The event which was mainly targeted at promoting and showcasing the football skills of our youths in my state constituency (Ife North State Constituency of Osun State), did not only fulfill its purpose, but also brought together our youths and elders and gave room for everybody to connect with each other for future collaborations.
“I am delighted to have initiated this milestone last year and having the ability to sustain it this year, with high hopes for the future in a better and redefined manner. I extend my appreciation to everybody who contributed towards the success of the event, right from the local organizing committee (LOC), to the teams that participated, our sponsors, my brothers, comrades and leaders who came from different parts of the country and most importantly the indigenes and residents of Ife North Local Government who came out in good numbers to grace the event and cheer their preferred teams and players.”
