The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has partnered with Chelfom Engineering Construction Company Nigeria Limited to launch a training programme on compliance with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act.
The programme is aimed at strengthening adherence to the provisions of the NOGICD Act while deepening local content development across Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Training Objectives
The training is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required for effective implementation of the NOGICD Act. Key areas to be covered include compliance requirements, enforcement mechanisms, and best practices for promoting local content development within the industry.
NCDMB’s Local Content Drive
The NCDMB has continued to champion initiatives that boost Nigerian participation in the oil and gas sector. Through capacity-building programmes, policy enforcement, and stakeholder engagement, the Board has worked to enhance compliance with the NOGICD Act. The current training underscores its commitment to building industry capacity and ensuring sustained local content growth.
Why Compliance Matters
Compliance with the NOGICD Act remains critical to the sustainable development of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. The Act provides a clear framework for increasing indigenous participation, promoting local capacity, and ensuring responsible industry operations. Stakeholders are therefore encouraged to fully understand and adhere to its provisions, as non-compliance attracts penalties and other sanctions.
