Payment card brand Verve has officially surpassed the milestone of 100 million cards issued across Africa.

This was revealed by Verve International Managing Director, Vincent Ogbunude, during a media launch in Lagos to celebrate the achievement and also unveil new partnerships with leading technology companies, including Adobe and Glovo.

Ogbunude said: “One hundred million cards is more than a statistic. It represents the confidence of our customers, the commitment of our partners, and the trust of millions of Africans.

“Every transaction tells a story, traders receiving payments quickly, students paying fees seamlessly, shoppers transacting securely, and entrepreneurs powering their businesses.”

Ogbunude explained that the collaboration with Adobe marks a new phase of support for millions of freelancers, digital creators, and on-demand workers.

He said: “Cardholders will now gain access to Adobe’s full suite of creative tools, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro, at competitive rates, easing payment challenges that have long limited African creators. This collaboration will enable designers, videographers, animators, and content creators to compete on a global stage.”

The milestone achievement coincides with Verve’s broader vision to drive secure, seamless and inclusive digital payments across the continent.

Verve also announced a partnership with Glovo, one of Africa’s fastest-growing delivery platforms. The partnership offers users discounts, rewards, and a smoother checkout experience, supporting gig workers, food couriers, and small businesses that rely on Glovo for income and last-mile delivery.

Reflecting on the milestone, Ogbunude said, “The 100 million-card achievement is a renewed mandate to deepen Verve’s footprint and better support Africa’s innovators. As we enter the next phase, Verve will continue to power inclusive digital experiences, expand acceptance points, and support the creators and entrepreneurs driving Africa’s digital transformation.”
