Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a leading governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, on Monday intensified consultations with party stakeholders as he attended the Ogbomoso North Local Government PDP Executive meeting held at the party’s secretariat in Ogbomoso.
The meeting formed part of Ajadi’s ongoing engagement with party structures across the state ahead of the 2027 governorship election, as he sought the support and prayers of party leaders at the grassroots level.
Addressing party executives and members, Ajadi reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of the PDP, describing the party as the foundation upon which any political ambition must stand.
“As a bona fide member of PDP, I remain loyal to its constitution, leadership, and collective decisions at every level,” Ajadi said. “My ambition is not personal; it is about strengthening our party and building on the progress our government has already made in Oyo State.”
He stressed that consultation, internal democracy, and unity would remain central to his political journey, adding that no aspiration could succeed without the backing of the party and the people.
Ajadi, in closing remarks, thanked the executives for their openness and assured them that he would continue to consult widely while placing the interest of the PDP and Oyo State above all personal considerations.

“Together, we shall move the PDP forward and strengthen the legacy of good governance in our dear state,” he said.
Speaking earlier, the PDP Ogbomoso North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Sikiru Jimoh Idowu, welcomed Ajadi and used the occasion to emphasise the principle of party supremacy.
“Party supremacy is very important. From the ward to the local government, and up to the state level, the party must come first,” Idowu said. “No leader should be marginalised. Leaders, whether favourites or not, must be accommodated to keep the party united.”
Idowu noted that while individuals are entitled to ambitions, alignment with party leadership and decisions remains paramount.
“Ogbomoso North has not endorsed any aspirant yet. Whatever the party leaders and our governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde’s decision will be final,” he added.
Drawing from personal experience, the chairman reminded members that patience and perseverance are key in politics.
“Position is given by God, but prayers and the support of the people matter. Governor Makinde contested several times before becoming governor. That lesson should guide us all,” he said.
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Areo Grace Adegoke, urged Ajadi not to lose sight of the party’s role in shaping political destiny.
“Party is supreme over everything. When you eventually get there, do not forget the party members who stood by you,” she admonished.
In his contribution, the Youth Leader, Hon. Dauda Kamorudeen, expressed confidence in Ajadi’s aspiration and highlighted the importance of youth inclusion in governance.
“By the grace of God, this aspiration will become a reality,” Kamorudeen said. “Governor Makinde has shown that youths are vital by appointing many young people to his cabinet. Youths form the majority of voters, and any serious aspiration must carry them along.”
The meeting ended with prayers for unity within the party and for divine guidance as the PDP prepares for future political engagements in Oyo State.
