The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has successfully concluded a three-week capacity-building training on structural steel fabrication for oil and gas projects in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The programme brought together participants from diverse backgrounds and was designed to equip them with practical, industry-relevant skills in structural steel fabrication — a critical area in the oil and gas value chain.
Key Highlights of the Training
Participants acquired hands-on technical competencies in structural steel fabrication, improving their employability and readiness for opportunities in the oil and gas sector. The programme also reflected NCDMB’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with industry stakeholders to drive sustainable local content development.
Stakeholders’ Remarks
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ulari Nwaogazie, Director of Kinetium, commended NCDMB for the partnership and described capacity building as vital to the long-term growth of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Representing NCDMB, Engr. Prince Zubai encouraged participants to fully utilize the skills acquired, reiterating the board’s dedication to empowering Nigerians and deepening local capacity within the sector.
The training forms part of NCDMB’s broader plan to train over 10,000 youths in high-demand oil and gas skills, earlier announced by the board’s Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe. The initiative is aimed at closing existing skills gaps and positioning Nigerian youths for emerging industry opportunities.
