A youth advocate and royal ambassador to the Ooni of Ife, Ambassador Habeeb Whyte, has congratulated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, as the revered monarch marks his 10th coronation anniversary.

In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, Whyte described the Ooni as “a symbol of unity, cultural renaissance, and visionary leadership, whose reign has brought renewed global recognition to Ile-Ife and the Yoruba heritage.”

He commended Oba Ogunwusi for his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, peace-building initiatives, economic development, and the promotion of African culture.

Whyte noted that the monarch’s decade-long reign has been characterised by inclusiveness and impactful programmes that have inspired millions across Nigeria and beyond.

“Kabiyesi’s ten years on the throne of Oduduwa is a testament to divine grace, wisdom, and extraordinary service to humanity. His Imperial Majesty’s love for the youth and his consistent efforts to preserve our heritage remain unmatched. I am honoured to celebrate this significant milestone with him.

“I pray for continued wisdom, long life, and prosperous years on the throne for the Ooni and I will also urge Nigerians to uphold the values of unity and cultural pride championed by the monarch”he said.

Ambassador Whyte also highlighted the Ooni’s role as a bridge-builder across ethnic and religious lines, noting that the monarch has consistently championed national cohesion through dialogue, advocacy, and humanitarian outreach.

He added that the Ooni’s open-door leadership style has positioned the throne of Oduduwa as a rallying point for unity and progressive discourse.

Recall that Oba Ogunwusi ascended the throne in December 2015 as the 51st Ooni of Ife, succeeding the late Oba Okunade Sijuwade.
