The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has congratulated General Christopher Gwabin Musa on his appointment as Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding service to the nation.
In a letter signed by the Chairman of the Foundation, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, the organisation commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as a “judicious and forward-looking” choice, which was further affirmed by the Senate’s swift confirmation.
The Foundation praised General Musa’s distinguished military career, highlighting his gallantry, leadership and deep strategic understanding of Nigeria’s security landscape. It expressed confidence that his broad experience would strengthen the nation’s defence architecture at a time of complex and evolving security challenges.
Former Chief of Army Staff and Grand Patron of the Foundation, Ambassador Lt.-Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd.), also lauded President Tinubu’s decision, noting that appointing a seasoned military professional to the defence portfolio would enhance national security efforts and boost public confidence.
Ambassador Buratai expressed optimism that General Musa would bring renewed energy to the Ministry of Defence and lead with wisdom, courage and strategic clarity. He prayed for a successful tenure marked by achievements that promote Nigeria’s peace, stability and overall wellbeing.
The Foundation stated that, amid Nigeria’s multifaceted security challenges, the appointment of General Musa represents a significant step towards strengthening the country’s security framework and fostering national unity.
