EGO Foundation, in partnership with Access Holdings, has successfully delivered the SheEnabled Asaba Project—a transformational, market-based empowerment initiative designed to equip women traders with practical business skills, financial literacy, and digital capacity-building. The program was implemented at the Midwifery Market, Okpanam Road, Asaba, Delta State.

Held on November 5th, 2025, the field initiative reached 1,570 indigent women and female-led micro-business owners, providing high-impact sessions on Financial Inclusion, Bookkeeping, Digital Literacy, and Environmental Sustainability.

Built as a field-first intervention, SheEnabled brought world-class learning directly to the everyday trading spaces of women. Through community-driven engagement and interactive facilitation, the project tackled long-standing gaps in business knowledge and digital awareness faced by women in the informal sector—empowering them with the tools they need to thrive.

“These enhanced capabilities better position them to access grants, leverage economic opportunities, and build sustainable businesses that uplift their households and communities.”

Beyond business training, the project integrated a strong environmental sustainability component. Participants received sensitization on routine clean-up practices and responsible waste disposal, reinforcing climate-positive habits within the market environment.

To further cushion economic pressures, the project distributed palliative support packages, including essential food items, enhancing household food security for participating women.

As part of long-term impact delivery, EGO Foundation established a Women’s Support Group to ensure follow-up learning, peer mentorship, accountability, and the consistent application of skills taught during the program.
