Throwback Video: After Supreme Court ruling, Omokri urged Nigerians to accept judgment, reject drug Lord tag

A video interview of former presidential spokesperson, Reno Omokri with Channels Television, has shown that Reno Omokri had urged Nigerians to accept the Supreme Court’s ruling that cleared the then presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu of any charges and convictions linking to alleged drug offences.

This is coming on the heels of the recent claims in some quartets claiming that Omokri never dropped his initial disagreement with then, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

Following the nomination of Omokri as an ambassador-designate by President Bola Tinubu, some critics are of the view that he never dropped the Chicago issue.

However, in a video widely in the media, the buy Naija, grow naira crusader is clearly seen in the video interview with Channels TV where he said he dropped the Chicago issue after the Supreme Court cleared Tinubu of all charges and convictions. He said he dropped the case because he saw real facts exonerating then presidential candidate, Tinubu of all charges and convictions. He had equally urged Nigerians to “follow facts rather than emotions”, noting that while facts are stable, emotions are not.

According to him, “that particular issue stemmed from a Chicago court and it went all the way to the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court said that, the interpretation which it made to the general public was that the charges and the convictions were not against the candidate, Bola Tinubu at that time.”

“It was against certain accounts. And just as I was able to drop the Chicago issue when I went and verified. After that judgement, I dropped that.”

“Because, you have to follow facts. You cannot follow emotions. Emotions are unstable; facts are stable,” he said.
