Gulder 5-Aside football qualifiers move to Ijebu Ode

The next set of qualifying matches in this year’s Gulder Ultimate Five-Aside Football competition moves to Ijebu Ode and the Dipo Dina Stadium will be the venue for action packed football matches as teams from the South-West clash for the opportunity to represent the zone at this year’s Grand Finale which will hold in Lagos.

The qualifiers will run from Friday, May 25 to Sunday, May 27, 2012 with the two finalists qualifying to represent the zone.

Several teams have qualified to represent their zones in the ongoing regional qualifiers across the country. They are Supremes FC and GidanBege FC from the North-Central; Ultimate FC and Etienne FC from the South-East; Port Harcourt City Academy and Network FC from the South-South and Campus FC and Apex FC from the Mid-West region.

The emergence of two teams from the South-West zone would bring the total number of qualified teams to 10.

Mr. Tony Agenmonmen, Marketing Manager – Lager, Nigerian Breweries Plc said: “In my view, the Gulder Ultimate Five Aside Football competition has created the necessary enabling platform for grass-roots football talent spread across the country.

From Makurdi to Enugu, through to Port Harcourt and down to Oleh in Delta State, we have seen talented footballers and we hope to see more budding talents trooping out for the competition, to showcase their skills in Ijebu Ode.”
