To mark its 25th anniversary, Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited on Tuesday championed the cause of preventive healthcare in Lagos with a public health walk.
The health walk, which drew significant public attention in the densely populated Lekki axis, was also used to formally announce the company’s free medical outreach scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, for residents of Lekki and surrounding communities, as well as the official celebration of its 25th anniversary.
The walk commenced from the Orchid Hotel on Orchid Road, passed through Eleganza Bus Stop, extended to Ikota Junction, and returned to the Orchid Hotel, which will also serve as the venue for the forthcoming medical outreach.
Speaking on behalf of the company, the Assistant General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Pharm. Abimbola Bowoto, said the initiative reflects Geneith’s strong commitment to early detection and disease prevention, noting that many health conditions often go undetected until they become life-threatening.
“We are using this 25th anniversary to encourage Nigerians to routinely check their health, especially blood pressure and blood sugar, which are silent killers. Prevention remains better than cure,” he said.
Bowoto explained that the free outreach forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed at improving access to basic health screening at the grassroots. She added that Geneith is prepared to attend to between 400 and 1,000 beneficiaries, depending on turnout.
“The message is simple: health is wealth. Nigerians must take their health seriously,” he stated.
Earlier, the Head of Human Resources and Administration, Mrs Ada Cosmas, said the health walk mirrors the company’s long-standing values of innovation, commitment, and integrity, stressing that both the walk and the outreach underscore Geneith’s culture of giving back to society.
“The walk promotes fitness and wellness, while the outreach reflects our commitment to the wellbeing of Nigerians. Giving back has always been part of who we are,” she said, adding that Geneith’s 25-year journey has been largely driven by innovation and strict quality assurance.
Also speaking, the Principal Manager, Hospital and Institutional Business, Pharm. Judith Udeh, said the walk was used to sensitise and formally invite the Lekki community to the free health services scheduled for December 6.
“Community engagement is critical in healthcare. It helps us build trust, educate the public, and return value to the people who have supported our brand over the years,” Udeh said.
She noted that Geneith has grown from a malaria diagnostics firm into a diversified pharmaceutical company with over 100 registered products across several therapeutic areas, while also making deliberate investments in youth-driven public health initiatives.
The December 6 medical outreach at the Orchid Hotel, Lekki, will feature blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, and other basic health screenings, as Geneith marks 25 years of contribution to Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
