Xeder AI launches seamless WhatsApp transaction to boost financial inclusion

Xeder AI has announced the launch of its new WhatsApp-enabled payment platform, introducing an easier, culturally intuitive way for Nigerians—especially senior citizens and the unbanked—to carry out financial transactions.

The innovation comes amid growing concerns about financial exclusion and fraud targeting elderly pensioners who struggle with language barriers and complex mobile banking applications. The company highlighted cases like that of 65-year-old Mrs. Awojobi, a recently retired federal civil servant who lost a significant portion of her pension after relying on others to help with digital transactions.

Xeder AI aims to eliminate such vulnerabilities by integrating local languages into the digital banking experience. The solution allows users to perform transactions through text or voice chat in English, Pidgin, Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo—languages spoken widely across Nigeria.

The platform also removes the need for app downloads or complicated onboarding, allowing transactions to be executed directly within WhatsApp. This approach targets the 26% of Nigerians currently outside the formal financial system, many of whom cite documentation and language challenges as barriers to digital banking.

Speaking on Xeder’s launch, Founder Mr. Adeleke Kehinde said: “Our mission has always been to simplify how people connect and conduct business. By enabling seamless transactions directly on WhatsApp powered by Artificial Intelligence, we’re breaking barriers and making everyday transactions and commerce more accessible, instant, and secure for everyone. Xeder-AI transforms everyday conversations into powerful financial access.”

Xeder-AI says the technology is built to support financial access across Africa, with plans for expansion into additional markets to be announced soon.

The company describes the launch as the beginning of a new era in Nigeria’s fast-growing tech ecosystem, positioning Xeder-AI as a culturally relevant solution with potential for global adoption
