Residents of the Maraban Rido and Juji Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Kaduna State have expressed deep appreciation to the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) for providing relief materials and Bibles worth ₦21.3 million.

The donation, which reached 1,305 households, included essential food items, back-to-school packs for children, and 3,505 copies of the Bible for literate beneficiaries.

In a letter signed by the Camp Commandant, Comrade Adams Sule, the residents praised the intervention, describing it as a source of comfort and renewed hope for people enduring the hardship of displacement.

“Your act of kindness has brought great relief, comfort, and renewed hope to our people,” the letter said. “The spiritual and material support has not only met our physical needs but has also strengthened our faith and trust in God.”

During a courtesy visit ahead of the distribution, the traditional ruler of the community, Dajkachi Auta Ganyi, also expressed profound gratitude, noting that no other organisation had delivered assistance on such a scale to the camps. He described BSN’s effort as the first of its kind.

Representing the organisation, Mr. Laniru Dare of the BSN Kaduna Area said the donation was part of the Society’s Macedonian Call project, which supports vulnerable people across the country.

“BSN does not only cater for the spiritual needs of Nigerians by making the Bible available and affordable but also for their physical needs,” he said, assuring the IDPs that “God still loves and cares for them.”

Launched in 2018, the Macedonian Call project has provided humanitarian aid to over 50,000 vulnerable Nigerians in Adamawa, Lagos, Benue, Edo, Kogi, and the Federal Capital Territory.
