Upgrade Abraka police station – Delsu Alumni

UGHELLI— Delta State University Alumni Association has called on the Police authorities in the state to upgrade the Abraka police station to a Police Division.

NATIONAL President of the association, Mr. Oriogbe Emoemu, at the founders’ day celebration of the institution and launching of Alumni Legacy Hall in Abraka, weekend, said the call became necessary, following the high rate of crime in the state. He insisted that its upgrade would lead to increase of security surveillance in the community.

He said: “It has become pertinent for security to be provided by upgrading the Abraka police station as well as providing the needed vehicles for patrol to stem the tide of kidnapping and violent criminal acts being perpetrated in the university town.”

Enjoining the state government to establish an independent power project to provide public supply to the university community, he said stable power supply would stimulate researchers, better teaching and learning condition in the institution.
