Nigerian Afrosoul, Highlife, and Afrojazz sensation Temidun Alobalorun has officially released his first-ever single, “Ufoma,” a deeply emotional track that marks his entry into the recording scene. Produced by Samuel Akinfolarin, the song captures the raw feelings of pain, confusion, and vulnerability that accompany heartbreak, all delivered through Temidun’s rich, soulful vocals and signature sound.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, Temidun revealed that “Ufoma” was born out of a painful breakup.
“I wrote this song after a terrible breakup with an ex,” he shared. “This is my first official release, and I took my time to prepare it. ‘Ufoma’ is deeply personal, and I’m excited to finally share it with the world.”
Born on August 17, 1998, Temidun is a multi-talented musician whose style blends Afrosoul, Highlife, and Afrojazz. Growing up in Shasha, Egbeda, Lagos, he was heavily influenced by music from an early age—thanks in part to his father, who once performed with Afrobeat icon Femi Kuti.
Temidun studied Music Technology at The Polytechnic Ibadan and later obtained a degree in Business Administration from IUSEBA University. Since beginning his professional journey in 2015, he has risen steadily in the music scene. He currently serves as the lead tenor saxophonist for Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 and has performed alongside major acts such as Teni, Etuk Ubong, The Cavemen, and Tayo Conga.
In 2019, he founded Antiquity, a highlife-fusion band known for its culturally rich and electrifying live performances.
With “Ufoma,” Temidun takes a bold leap into the spotlight as a recording artist, and fans can expect more soulful, melodious releases in the months ahead.
“Ufoma” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
