The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with 17Asus Resource Limited, has commenced a one-month vocational training programme on plumbing and water treatment for 50 youths in Edo State.

The initiative is aimed at equipping young Nigerians with practical, industry-relevant skills that will boost their employability and open up entrepreneurial opportunities within the oil and gas sector and other technical fields.

According to organisers, the programme is designed to strengthen local capacity by providing hands-on training that enables participants to acquire competencies needed to compete effectively in the labour market.

NCDMB said the collaboration with 17Asus Resource Limited reflects its sustained commitment to youth empowerment and local content development. By investing in capacity-building initiatives, the Board hopes to contribute to reducing unemployment and underemployment among Nigerian youths.

The training also aligns with NCDMB’s broader mandate to deepen local participation in the oil and gas industry by developing a skilled and competitive workforce.

The programme is expected to produce graduates capable of pursuing careers in plumbing, water treatment, and related technical areas, thereby contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.
