An Imo State-based entrepreneur, Prince Chibuike Ilokwe, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to consider a political approach in resolving issues surrounding the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, as a means to promote peace in the South East.

Speaking to journalists in Owerri on Tuesday, Ilokwe emphasised that addressing regional grievances through dialogue could help reduce tensions and foster stability.

He noted that Kanu’s activism reflects concerns about marginalisation in the South East and said a political solution could provide a constructive path forward.

“Many people have called for dialogue and political engagement. I appeal to the President to consider this approach. Where there are grievances, it is important to seek ways to address them through lawful and peaceful means,” Ilokwe said.

Ilokwe also called on regional stakeholders—including the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, governors, traditional rulers, and other political leaders—to engage in efforts that could promote peaceful resolution and stability in the South East.

Additionally, he expressed concern about rising insecurity across the country, particularly in the North, and urged the federal government to intensify measures to protect citizens and strengthen security nationwide.
