…Offers N25m Grand Prize

Again, Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Mushin, Lagos State, has unveiled its annual Season 4, Sport Fiesta, themed: “Step to Sustainability” with promises to be most exciting edition.
This edition aimed to feature games such as: 5-a-side soccer tournament, Boxing, Draughts, Table Tennis, 52 Card Game, Video Game, Snooker, and Special Games.
Speaking at the press conference which took place at the LCDA premises, the Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. ‘Seyi Jakande, outlined the importance of the initiative.
“This event is not just about sports, it is about building a future where our youths have platforms to grow, excel and succeed.
“Since I assumed office on July 28, our administration has worked tirelessly to strengthen the foundations of growth and deliver impactful programmes across all wards,” he stated.
Jakande highlighted how the 4th edition of the fiesta ties into broader vision of the LCDA.
“The purpose of today’s gathering is to officially unveil the 4th Edition of our annual Sport Fiesta, highlight its new structure, announce the grand prize, and outline how this initiative ties into our broader vision of empowering youths, strengthening community unity and promoting sustainable talent development and other activities that will commence in the last month of the year,” he added.
Also, the chairman emphasised that the games of the fiesta would cut across modern, traditional, and digital sporting interests with Grand Prize of N25 million.
“These games cut across modern, traditional, and digital sporting interests giving every young person a chance to shine. We are proud to announce that the Grand Prize for Season 4 is N25 million, the largest in the history of this competition. This investment reflects our belief in sports as a tool for empowerment, talent discovery and sustainable youth development,” he said.
Continued, Jakande noted further that each of the nine wards of the LCDA, will conduct its own local qualifiers, identify outstanding talents and present their best competitors for the grand finale, adding, “this ensures equal opportunity across all wards, grassroots scouting of hidden talents, increased participation, strong ward representation, healthy driven competition.
“It represents true sustainability because talent is built from the ground up. The theme for this year’s fiesta, “Step to Sustainability,” captures our vision to a sustainable sports culture that grows stronger each year, empowerment for youths physically, mentally and socially, a sustainable pathway to opportunities, careers, community pride and sustainable unity that binds us together as one LCDA. With this theme, we are building a legacy that future generations will inherit and expand.
Meanwhile, Hon Jakande also reiterated several activities designed to supports households and promote community bonding via sale of chicken which will take place at the council’s premises, quiz, debate and bursary for indigenous tertiary students of the LCDA with good CGPA.
