Mr. Obi-West Utchaychukwu, publisher of Diaspora Glitz Magazine and founder of the Global African Diaspora Awards (GADA), has expressed gratitude for the success of the second edition of the awards, held in Houston, Texas, USA.

The star-studded event, which took place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Golden Tree Banquet, attracted over 400 guests from across the United States and other parts of the world. The GADA Awards, established last year, celebrate the achievements of Africans in the diaspora across multiple industries.

The event brought together top executives in oil and gas, leaders in technology and healthcare, prominent legal and business professionals, entertainment executives, community advocates, social influencers, and talented music artists, creating an atmosphere of inspiration and celebration. Its glitz and glamour have earned it the reputation as Houston’s most glamorous awards gala recognizing African excellence worldwide.

The ceremony was hosted by Nigerian comedian MC Elenu and Norway-based Cameroonian MC Charlene, known as the “Energy Goddess,” while the red carpet was anchored by Gifty David.

“The celebration of these achievements is not just about individual success; it’s about amplifying the collective voices of Africans across the globe,” said Obi-West Utchaychukwu. “By highlighting their stories and journeys, we give their accomplishments a platform that resonates far beyond their immediate communities. This amplification challenges stereotypes, promotes diversity, and creates a more inclusive global society.”

He added that the GADA Awards serve as a reminder of the talent within the African diaspora and the vital roles they play in shaping industries and driving progress worldwide. The awards spotlight professional excellence, resilience, creativity, and leadership, ensuring African voices are heard and celebrated on the global stage.

Obi-West Utchaychukwu, who relocated to Houston two years ago after a decade in Finland, noted that the 3rd edition of the GADA Awards will return to Houston in 2026, followed by a 2027 edition in Paris, France, with plans to host the awards in different cities around the world.
