It was an evening of worship, warmth, and reflection as Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) and Chairman of Executive Group, marked his 49th birthday with the 5th edition of his Gospel Hymns and Songs Birthday Concert on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

The atmosphere was filled with gratitude as leaders from government, business, law enforcement, the clergy, academia, and the media gathered to honour Dr. Ogunsan — a man celebrated for his deep faith, entrepreneurial excellence, and commitment to public service.

Among the dignitaries were Odole Oodua and Chairman of Premier Lotto, Sir Kessington Adebutu, soon to mark his 90th birthday; Sir Olu Okeowo and Lady Adejoke Okeowo; Chinese Consular General Yan Yuqing; First Bank CEO Segun Alebiosu; Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, Executive Secretary of LSSTF; and several Lagos State Commissioners including Prof. Akin Abayomi, Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, and Mobolaji Ogunlende (RAK).

Also in attendance were prominent security leaders — former DIGs Abiodun Alabi, Bode Adeleke, Lanre Bankole, and Yetunde Longe; AIG Adegoke Fayoade, AIG Margaret Ochalla, AIG Lanre Ishola, and Lagos State Commissioner of Police CP Olohundare Jimoh, alongside senior officers across ranks.

Dr. Ogunsan opened the concert with heartfelt renditions of hymns such as I’d Rather Have Jesus and Jesus, You Are the Centre of My Joy. His daughter, Mercy Ogunsan, performed Jesus Wept, a moving composition by her mother, Dr. (Mrs.) Ajoke Ogunsan, who also joined her husband and daughters Joy and Seun for Great Is Thy Faithfulness, drawing emotional applause from guests.

The event featured soul-stirring performances by various choirs and soloists. Professor Albert performed You Deserve the Glory, while Pastor Wale Dosunmu reminded believers to pursue righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. The Young Executives Forum choir lifted spirits with I Am Part of the Family of God.

In a heartfelt tribute, Dr. Ogunsan, alongside Pastors Taiwo Olasunkanmi and Taiwo Adeniran, sang Oreofe Sha to honour Sir Kessington Adebutu, praising his fatherly influence and generosity.

Notable guests also participated musically — Sir Olu Okeowo sang classics including Hosanna, Blessed Be the Name of the Lord; Segun Alebiosu rendered We Bless You, O Lord of Heaven and Earth; while Consul General Yan Yuqingdelighted the audience with a Chinese version of Happy Birthday, proudly introducing herself as “Ayo, Uchechukwu, and Fatima.”

The night culminated with a powerful performance by Dr. (Mrs.) Ajoke Ogunsan, who delivered five original songs — Who Is Like You, Oba Nla, Osuba Re, You Lifted Me, and All Creation Bows Before You — filling the auditorium with thanksgiving and praise. She also announced the launch of her debut music album in December.

For Dr. Ogunsan, the 49th birthday celebration was more than a personal milestone — it was a testament to faith, service, and gratitude. His life, as reflected in the night’s theme of worship, continues to inspire many to blend leadership with spirituality and purpose.
