Palpable tension reportedly gripped residents of no.22b Omoruyi Street in Benin City after they were rescued from a show of violence by members of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity led by its leader who physically assaulted one Osamwonyi Martins Oghagbon and his family after he acted in defiance against his father’s request.

The embattled Osamwonyi Martins Oghagbon is the eldest son of Pa.Anthony Oghagbon, a deceased member of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity in Benin City who passed on in December 2024 .

The occult members numbering 4 were said to have been led to the residence of Osamwonyi Martins Oghagbon by one of the leaders who ordered the 4 occult members into his apartment even as they angrily dragged him out of his apartment.

Osamwonyi Martins Oghagbon, who in January buried his father, was brutally assaulted by members of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity as he was violently kicked while being forcefully taken out of his apartment, it was confirmed.

Though the visible tears of his wife and children flowed freely but were not enough to sway the feelings of the occult leader who ordered the physical assault on him.

During the public assault on the family, one of the occult members was said to have violently shoved and pushed Osamwonyi Martins Oghagbon’s wife and children away to the ground as they attempted to stop them from further assaulting her husband .

As the wife and her 3 children watched helplessly in tears the violent assault on her husband, neighbours later rushed to his rescue and managed to wrestle him away from the grip of the occult members.

The rescued family of 5 reportedly went into hiding from the occult members after the assault, it was confirmed.

Prior to the violent assault of May 19 on the family of 5, It was gathered that he outrightly refused to respond to an earlier letter written by the leader of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity to inform him of an earlier request by his deceased father to take over his position in the occult group.

Meanwhile Osamwonyi Martins Oghagbon, a devoted Christian, was said to have immediately reported the imminent threats to his life by the occult group at the police station before the public assault .

However, the ooccult members vowed to return for the family and make Osamwonyi Martins Oghagbon pay for his defiance against the members and the outright rejection of his deceased father’s request to have his membership as a minor several years ago fully activated in accordance with his deceased father’s request.

Meanwhile, findings in the community by our correspondent reliably revealed that prior to the final burial of Pa.Anthony Oghagbon , few weeks after his passing in December 2024, Osamwonyi Martins Oghagbon was said to have been seriously enmeshed in a long running battle with prominent members of the occult group .
