THE protracted crisis rocking  Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was resolved, yesterday, after the two factional leaders of the party, Dr Samuel Ogbemudia, a two-time governor of the old Bendel State and Chief Tony Anenih, the immediate past chairman, Board of Trustees of the party, embraced  and vowed to work together.

The reconciliation took place at Ewohimi, Esan South East Local Government Area of the state, when a former governorship aspirant of the Action Congress (AC) in the state, Mr Ken Imansuangbon, decamped to the PDP with his supporters.

Other dignitaries at the  event  include  former   chairman of the PDP, Chief Solomon Lar; immediate past governor of the state, Professor Oserhiemen Osunbor; Chief Dan Orbih; former presidential aide, Professor Julius Ihonbvere; former deputy  governor of the state, Mr Lucky Imasuen and former factional chairman of the party, Mr  Edward Sado. Anenih, who on the occasion described the AC government in the state as “AC without compressor”, said that “few hours ago, I was telling some persons that nobody can separate me and Dr. Ogbemudia.

When we were campaigning in Benin, I warned that those who tried to divide the leaders will eventually suffer. Look at it now, all of us are, the Uyugues, every body is here, so what are we talking about?”

Anenih then said: “If  I have offended  any member,  please forgive me and if Chief Ogbemudia has offended you, please forgive him. I want to also commend Barr.Sado (the factional chairman that withdrew his case from  court)  for saying yes when it is time to say so and for saying no when it is time to say so.”

He took a swipe at the AC, saying: “The engine of the AC is working but it is not cooling. I am actually wondering who is in AC in Edo State. This is the beginning of better things to come to Edo State. We will have more rallies and we will take over the state”.
