…urges industry to embrace disruption
The Success Leadership and Finance (SLF) Conference has reaffirmed its role as a platform for innovation and leadership, with a strong call on industry players to embrace disruption as a pathway to growth.

This year’s edition, championed by Daniel Akila, brought together professionals, entrepreneurs, start-ups, policymakers, and business leaders under the theme “Disruption: People, Culture, Money.” Discussions centred on how rapid changes in society are reshaping the way people live, work, and interact, and how organisations must adapt to remain relevant.
Akila described SLF as more than a gathering, stressing that it is a movement designed to spotlight Northern Nigeria and Africa, nurture latent potential, and encourage excellence that meets global standards. “SLF is where leaders come to network, share knowledge, and inspire a new generation to take on the challenges of today’s world,” he said.
Speakers and panelists at the event examined the impact of technological shifts, cultural transformation, and financial disruption on businesses and governance. They warned that disruption is not a distant threat but a current reality, and urged companies to decide whether they would be overtaken by change or become the drivers of it.
“The question before us is simple,” one discussant noted. “Would you be disrupted, or would you be the disruption?”
Breakout sessions explored digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and policy reforms that can strengthen institutions. Entrepreneurs at the forum shared personal experiences of resilience, while investors and policymakers highlighted opportunities for collaboration across sectors.
Akila reaffirmed the vision of the conference: to create a vibrant ecosystem where professionals and organisations can collaborate to inspire, learn, and lead. He urged participants to see disruption not as a threat, but as an opportunity to build stronger enterprises and communities.
Beyond dialogue, the forum also provided a networking platform for start-ups to meet potential investors and industry leaders, positioning SLF as a bridge between emerging ideas and established markets.
