When Raheem Abike Halimah, popularly known as Papaya Ex, reached one million Instagram followers, she chose to celebrate in a way that lit up Lagos.

In June, hundreds of young Nigerians gathered in an open field in Lekki, each hoping to drive away with the grand prize – a brand-new Lexus saloon car.

The luxury gift came directly from Papaya Ex herself. “I wanted to give back in a way my fans would never forget,” she said. “They are the reason I’m here, so this is my way of saying thank you.”
