Top Nigerian content creators and tech enthusiasts recently gathered in Lagos for the Creators event aimed at inspiring young Nigerians to pursue unconventional paths in their careers.
The event popularly known as “Beyond Convention conference,” was convened by Eric Gugua, a prominent tech educator and social media influencer who positioned the event as a platform for discussions that move past common understanding.
Speaking, Gugua said that the maiden event was designed to explore foundational issues around faith, technology, personal development, and careers, as they are central to society.
He explained that beyond convention conference was tailored to engage college students, young professionals, experts in technology and personal finance, and visionary leaders committed to shaping the future.
The program, which hosted over 3,000 youths, sought to equip attendees with the drive and tools needed to innovate and establish their unique trajectories, moving beyond established norms.
Gugua expressed a goal for the discussions to be interactive, focusing on correcting inaccuracies rather than simply providing entertainment.
“One of our goals is to make this discussion as interactive as possible. We are doing this because they are foundational issues in society, and if we don’t understand, we will continue to experience the same thing we experience.
“We feel the need to correct the abnormalities rather than simply entertain them. If a society is to progress, we need to entertain concepts we disagree with and challenge our ideologies,” he said.
Some of the highlights of the event was an interactive panel session by Michael Sani Amanesi (Mc Lively), Salem King, Egemba Chinoso Fidelis (Aproko Doctor), and Dr. Tochukwu MacFoy (Dr. Foy).
The success of the conference owes much to its engaged attendees, whose active participation and eagerness to embrace new perspectives drove the event’s dynamic discussions.
Their online and physical presence helped transform the conference from a series of talks into a vibrant forum for meaningful exchange, laying the groundwork for real impact in the areas of technology, finance, faith, and personal growth.
The conference featured Keynote speakers such as Kagan, Hertz Fauzan, and Eric Gugua. Other speakers were Nnenna Kayode-Lawal, a certified Executive and Transformation Coach; Ziora Okwor-Wewan, a powerhouse in corporate law; Adenike Ruth Adesegun, a business strategist and storyteller; Scott Eneje, a legend in Nigeria’s tech space; and Victoria Ogbujah, CEO of CV Consulting.
