In a groundbreaking moment for the Jos entertainment scene, popular stand-up comedian Leakingmouth made history on July 19 as the first comedian from Jos to headline a sold-out show in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja.

After consistently hosting his comedy special in Jos for the past eleven years, Leakingmouth took a bold step by bringing the show to a wider audience, with the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Abuja serving as the venue for this milestone edition. The show marked the beginning of what the comedian describes as a tour to other major cities across Nigeria and, eventually, other parts of the world.

Speaking after the show, Leakingmouth said, “This is not just a performance; it’s a message that talent from anywhere in Nigeria, especially Jos, deserves a national stage. Abuja was just the beginning.”

The event drew a vibrant crowd and featured a mix of established and emerging comedy talents from both Jos and Lagos. Performers included crowd favourites such as Romeo, MC Danfo, Eboh Bomb, Omodan, and MC Youngee, who delivered electrifying performances that kept the audience laughing throughout the evening.

Star comedians Josh2Funny, MC Edo Pikin, and Loud Voice were also spotted in the audience, lending their support to the Jos-born trailblazer.

Leakingmouth revealed that the Abuja edition will not be a one-off. “This is going to be an annual show in Abuja,” he said, promising even bigger performances in future editions.

With this successful debut in Abuja, Leakingmouth has not only expanded his reach but also opened the door for other northern-based comedians to dream bigger and aim higher.
