Two of Nigeria’s foremost female leaders in the oil and gas industry, Chief Uju Ifejika, Chairperson/CEO of Brittania-U Nigeria Limited, and Mrs. Winifred Akpani, Managing Director of Northwest Petroleum & Gas Company Limited, will serve as guest speakers at the upcoming Indigenous Oil & Gas Investors Summit, scheduled to take place from July 23–24, 2025, at the Bickley Park Waterfront Hotel, Lekki, Lagos.
The summit, themed “Local Vision, Global Impact: The Future of Oil and Gas Investment in Nigeria,” will bring together key stakeholders, investors, and policymakers to explore the evolving dynamics of Nigeria’s energy sector with a focus on indigenous participation and innovation.
Ifejika and Akpani are slated to lead a high-profile session titled “The Challenges and Triumphs of Women in the Oil and Gas Sector,” where they will share their experiences navigating a traditionally male-dominated industry, building successful enterprises, and championing local capacity.
“These trailblazing women have not only shattered glass ceilings but have also built enduring legacies in Nigeria’s energy space,” said Wenefred Odunze, Summit Coordinator. “Their insights will add tremendous value to conversations around inclusive growth, gender equity, and the future of indigenous investment in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.”
The event is expected to draw wide participation from local and international investors, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and the media. Organizers have urged interested participants to register early, as attendance is expected to be robust.
The summit aims to spotlight success stories within Nigeria’s indigenous oil and gas industry, foster partnerships, and drive forward policies that promote sustainability, innovation, and local ownership.
