ENUGU — Business mogul, Chief Ejike Abugu, has been re-elected unopposed as Chairman of the Amufie Town Union (ATU), Enugu State branch, in what members hailed as a resounding vote of confidence in his leadership.

The recently held election also produced other executive members:

Pharm. Odo Ernest – Secretary

Chief Boniface Ugwu – Vice Chairman

Chinedu Adonu – Assistant Secretary

Oliver Abugu – Treasurer

Ugwu Uchenna – Financial Secretary

Ali Ikenna and Onyebuchi Eke – Provost I and II, respectively

Administering the oath of office, Justice Harold Eya charged the new executives to uphold the Union’s Constitution, emphasizing transparency, inclusivity, and service-driven leadership.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Abugu expressed gratitude for the trust reposed in him, describing the election as free, fair, and credible.

“I deeply appreciate the overwhelming support and confidence you have shown. We will not let you down,” he said.

Chief Abugu pledged to revitalize union activities and position the Enugu branch as a benchmark for others nationwide. He emphasized the importance of community engagement and urged non-members to get involved.

“Let’s make hay while the sun shines. Our collective efforts will determine how far we go,” he added.

Reaffirming his commitment to unity, development, and the welfare of all members, he promised that the new executive team would deliver effective and inclusive leadership.

Earlier, Prof. Boniface Eze, who chaired the electoral committee, declared the results and commended the candidates, urging members to rally behind the new leadership for continued progress.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of Otipiri food by Justice Eya, adding a traditional flavor to the celebration.
