WealthBridge Financial Services has said finance must be approached as a tool for solving real human problems.

Speaking as sponsor and knowledge partner in two major youth-focused finance events: of the Finance Symposium (T.F.S) 4.0 of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Finance Student Association and The Pitch 5.0, organised by Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Students’ Finance Club in Ile-Ife, Osun State, WealthBridge executives challenged attendees to rethink the traditional role of finance, advocating a shift from transactional lending to intentional capital deployment.

Group Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Adekunle Lawal summarised his message, delivered on his behalf by Bola Bhadmus, Managing Director of WealthBridge Asset Management, at the UNILAG event, that, “Capital must not only be accessible, but also smart, coordinated and deeply connected to sectoral understanding.”

Drawing from Nigeria’s realities in agriculture, fintech, and power, Lawal illustrated how finance can either entrench inefficiencies or unlock scale—depending on its structure, literacy, and patience. His remarks reinforced WealthBridge’s position as a pioneer in using financial strategy to shape national development outcomes.

Just days earlier, on June 13, 2025, WealthBridge also served as a key sponsor and contributor at The Pitch 5.0 hosted at Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). With the theme “Invest, Include, Innovate: AI & the Future of African Finance,” the event explored how finance must evolve in response to technology and sustainability imperatives.

The Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of WealthBridge, Babatope Davies, who delivered the keynote address painted a vivid picture of the transformation happening within the finance profession. Using the rise of notable fintech companies and Nigeria’s leapfrogging fintech movement as anchor points, he urged students to think beyond titles and compensation and instead approach finance as a tool for solving real human problems.

He emphasized the power of hybrid careers, the need for fluency in both finance and tech, and the urgency of integrating ESG principles into investment thinking. His address was both sobering and inspiring—encouraging students to adapt quickly, stay grounded in local contexts, and use capital as a moral and strategic force for inclusive growth.
