UGHELLI — The Delta Central APC Leaders of Thought (DECALT) have expressed deep appreciation to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, for appointing their National Leader, Chief (Sir) Ominimini Christopher Obiuwevbi, PhD, as Special Adviser on Political Matters (36 States and FCT).

In a letter dated May 5, 2025, and jointly signed by the group’s executive members, DECALT hailed Akpabio’s decision as a strategic move that places “a square peg in a square hole.” The group described Chief Ominimini as a dynamic, charismatic, and loyal political mobiliser with a proven track record of delivering results.

“We are indeed very elated that you shall reap an avalanche of political successes in terms of unalloyed loyalty and the delivery of the objectives of the office you have placed him in,” the letter read.

The group highlighted Ominimini’s instrumental role during the 2023 general elections, where he served as the APC Campaign Coordinator for Delta Central Senatorial District. They credited him with securing significant victories for the party, including wins in Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency and multiple State House of Assembly seats.

DECALT also recalled his leadership in organising the APC’s massive one-million-man march in Warri, which they said demonstrated his capacity to mobilise support across the Niger Delta.

According to the leaders, the appointment has rekindled confidence in the APC’s path to victory in the 2027 elections. “We know that victory is sure for our great party come 2027,” the letter stated.

The letter was signed by DECALT National Chairman Chief Thomas Oduruan, National Secretary Prof. Emmanuel E.O. Odjadjare, Deputy Chairman Chief Onome Yegbeburu, Publicity Secretary Chief G.S. Okagbare, and National Assistant Secretary Hon. Austin Ohwofaria.

They pledged unwavering loyalty and support to Senator Akpabio and commended his continued alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria! Long live the Senate President!” the letter concluded.
