Nigerian, T-Jos makes history with 154-hour Guinness World Records for longest premium haircuts marathon

ABUJA —Nigerian barber, Joshua Aiyeniro, popularly known as T-Jos, has successfully completed the Guinness World Records for the longest premium haircuts marathon, clocking an impressive 154 hours.

The seven-day challenge, which began on June 10, 2025, at exactly 10 pm at the Velodrome, Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, came to a close on Wednesday night,  precisely 10 pm.

T-Jos spent 168 active hours on the challenge, with 14 hours of rest deducted in accordance with Guinness World Records rules, which entitles participants to one hour of rest after every 12 hours.

A statement by Alhaji Gambo Jagindi, head of media and publicity of the planning committee, stated that the remarkable achievement was a testament to T-Jos’s dedication, passion, and perseverance.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was present at the venue earlier to officially declare the countdown to the closing ceremony.

The statement further said that the presence of the governor, along with other prominent figures, underscored the significance of T-Jos’s achievement and the impact it has on promoting skill acquisition and inspiring the youth.

“T-Jos’s achievement is not only a personal triumph but also a source of inspiration for many. We are proud to have supported him on this journey, and we look forward to seeing the impact his achievement will have on the nation’s youth, ” the governor said.

“T-Jos’s record-breaking attempt has captivated audiences worldwide, showcasing the art of barbering and inspiring many.

We congratulate T-Jos on this incredible feat and wish him continued success in his future endeavors,” he added.
