The City of London has honoured Nigerian engineer and member of Think Yoruba First (TYF), Engr. Olakunle Faleti, with the prestigious Freedom of the City of London award.

According to TYF Secretary, Dr. Bukola Adeniji, the historic award recognises Engr. Faleti’s outstanding service and expertise in logistics and transport planning.

“The honour was formally conferred on him on June 11, 2025, at the Chamberlain’s Court, Guildhall, during a ceremony steeped in tradition dating back to 1237,” Adeniji said.

She added that the recognition is a testament to Faleti’s significant contributions to the logistics profession, particularly in London. With a master’s degree in transport planning and management, Engr. Faleti is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) and a Chartered Member of both the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE).

“His work has consistently advanced best practices in construction logistics and urban freight planning. This honour not only celebrates his professional accomplishments but also his commitment to shaping the future of transport and logistics in the UK and beyond,” she stated.
