Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Shehu Bawa ABG, has urged Muslim faithful to emulate the noble virtues of self-sacrifice, obedience to Allah, and unwavering service to humanity as demonstrated by Prophets Ibrahim and his son, Isma’il.
In his 2025 Eid-el-Adha message, ABG emphasized the need for spiritual renewal, deep reflection, and taking stock of the nation’s progress. He encouraged Nigerians to consider how they could individually and collectively contribute to national development.
Highlighting the essence of Eid-el-Adha, ABG explained that Muslims who can afford to are enjoined by Allah to sacrifice animals in commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to the divine command to sacrifice his son.
“Allah cherishes obedience to His commandments, as shown by Prophets Ibrahim and Isma’il (may Allah be pleased with them). Despite the emotional burden, they complied with Allah’s instruction, exemplifying absolute faith in His oneness,” ABG stated.
He added that their obedience brought them divine blessings and urged Muslims to emulate their steadfastness in order to receive similar favor from the Creator.
ABG also expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, stating that if both leaders and citizens prioritize God-consciousness, the country would experience greater peace and prosperity. He called on Nigerians to promote love, unity, and care within their families and communities.
“Our dear Kaduna State and Nigeria at large possess immense untapped potential. It is our collective commitment and sacrifice that will drive us toward a greater and better nation,” he said.
He concluded by praying for a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration, marked by harmony and abundance for all.
