It was a gathering of young Nigerians seeking career improvement at Film Factory Reality TV Show Season One. The show which hosted 25 contestants provided training mostly on entertainment and other aspects to really impact and equip participants for self-reliant, job creation.

Winners in a media chat revealed their experiences and benefits while the training lasted.

Winner of the competition, Desire Onwuchekwa aka, Dee who went home with a car and N15m is Anambra born indigene living in Asaba where she works as a filmmaker and actress. Desire said, part of the amazing things she learnt in the house was that everybody wanted to be a celebrity, but not everybody has what it takes to be a celebrity. According to her, “People may know how to act in movies but how do they carry themselves in public, how do you make people believe in you, how do you show yourself and make people respect you for who you are?

“Again, I learnt how to be confident and treat people around me with respect, to be humble because humility is the key that can unlock different kinds of keys that you do not expect in your life”.

With tears of joy, Desire told the media, “I cannot believe it that I won the show. I thank the organisers, my family and fans and also other winners. As a freelancer and television presenter, I will use this money to set up a studio for myself to be able to interview prominent people in the society.”

First runner up, Jessica Robert Comfort, from Akwa Ibom state, said “my experience in the house for 25 days was tough. I’m a very reserved person, now coming to meet people with different characters and different backgrounds, the good, the bad and the ugly became a challenge to me. But in all, it was good because among other things I have learnt how to be outspoken.

“As the first runner-up, I will use this N1.2m to further my education. I will create awareness for this show that has given me the opportunity to become what I am today. So, if I have any opportunity to help people, definitely, I will do that. However, I want to appreciate the organizers for giving me the opportunity to participate in this show. They have helped me realise that I have a big potential that has been hiding before now. It opened my shell and I am happy and I will explore all the things that I have learnt in the house”.

In the same vein, Second runner up, Ankpo Monday Aika aka Forex from Cross Rivers state who won N1m said, “My experience has been wonderful, meeting amazing people, the management, director and 38 housemates. The show has impacted my life. There are so many things that I have learnt here that I never thought of”.

Film Director, Dr Victory Emuejekarohwo said, “it is not easy in the house trying as much as possible to make sure that you bend everyone. A course that is supposed to take four years but we want the contestants to know it within 25 days. It is like a master class where you have to know a lot of things about the movie industry. Majority of them came into the house looking crude but today, I can assure you that most of them have become refined. They have been able to know one or two things concerning acting”.

“Some of the projects that they did on their own, they edited them and it is a plus for them. The movie that they did here shows that they have been taught a lot of things. They can equally testify that they have learnt a lot of things in the house. Giving back to society is one of the things that we should be looking into. Everything is not about money, you will see that a lot of youths actually need this empowerment, so that they can find their way in life”.
