WAENI Marks Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025 with Awareness Drive at Gwarimpa School

To commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, the Women Aid Empowerment Network Initiative (WAENI) held a sensitization campaign at LEA Secondary School, Gwarimpa, Abuja, on Tuesday, May 28.

Led by its CEO, Nwaru Caroline Oluchi, the initiative focused on educating schoolgirls about menstrual hygiene and its critical role in promoting health, self-confidence, and dignity. The event featured educational talks and the distribution of sanitary pads to female students.

WAENI also highlighted the health risks of poor menstrual hygiene and urged parents to play an active role in guiding their daughters through safe and informed menstrual care. “Every girl deserves to manage her period with dignity and knowledge,” Oluchi said.

The organization expressed appreciation to its donors, including Maria Stuffs Printing Press Gwarimpa, Brst Imo and family, and other supporters whose generosity made the outreach possible.

WAENI, a CAC-registered NGO recognized by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and certified by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, remains committed to championing women’s health and girl-child empowerment across Nigeria.
