In a landmark effort to foster lasting peace and unity, the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA), led by Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, has joined forces with several Chief Imams to convene a historic meeting of traditional rulers from across the region.
Held in Kafanchan, the meeting brought together monarchs from various ethnic and religious backgrounds in a bold step to consolidate recent gains in peace and chart a new course for regional development.
Apostle Kure, speaking on behalf of the clerics, emphasized the urgency of the initiative, noting that Southern Kaduna’s leaders and people must rise above past divisions in the face of changing times and looming challenges.
“We are deeply concerned about the future of our region. It is time to move forward as a united people,” Kure stated.
Responding on behalf of the traditional rulers, Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu II, and Chief of Kagoro, Dr. Ufuwai Bonnet, welcomed the initiative and pledged their full support. They described the gathering as both timely and essential for the region’s survival and growth.
The monarchs also lauded the efforts of the religious leaders in promoting unity, praising their boldness in bringing together traditional institutions beyond ethnic and religious boundaries.
The meeting, which also included prominent elders of the region, is widely regarded as a pivotal moment in strengthening inter-ethnic and inter-religious dialogue. It marks a significant step toward a peaceful and prosperous future for all residents of Southern Kaduna.
