Rave 91.7 FM has once again solidified its dominance in the media landscape, clinching the Best Radio Station award for the sixth consecutive year at the 2023 Osun Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Professional Awards. The ceremony, a highlight of the NUJ’s annual Press Week, took place at Olu-Osugbohun Hall in Osogbo, honoring exceptional journalists and media organizations for their journalistic excellence and societal development.

Rave FM’s Lekan Akindoju also went home with the Reporter of the Year (radio) award while WSTV’s Evelyn Ohiolei won the Best Newscaster (Television).

The Osun NUJ Professional Awards celebrate excellence across different categories, recognizing the outstanding work of journalists practicing in Osun State. Rave 91.7 FM’s latest victory over more than ten other radio stations in the state is a testament to its amazing music and quality talk motto, earning praise for its innovative and impactful content, accurate reporting, and strong community engagement. The station’s consistent excellence has made it a household name, with a youthful team delivering high-quality broadcasts that resonate with listeners across the state since its establishment in 2015.

Other notable winners included Prince Adeolu Adeyemo of Nigerian Tribune, named Overall Best Newspaper Journalist of the Year, Ayobami Agboola of New Telegraph, who took home Best Investigative Reporter and Kazeem Badmus of Osun Defender who won the Best Reporter (Print).
