A new book, “Life and Melodies: The Music Realm of Izone-Ebi Alfred”,  which chronicles JKing Izonebi Alfred’s music career and contributions to the development of Nigerian music industry, is scheduled for launch in Yenagoa on May 20, 2025, which is also the birthday of the Highlife music idol. The day will also witness the inauguration of a new civic centre and a music studio.

Two new songs titled “Be Steadfast” and “Dream Love” by Alfred are also expected to be released on that day as part of the activities marking  his birthday.

It is a day specially created to showcase the achievements and contributions of Alfred to the growth of the Ijaw music industry which he has enhanced with his digitally rooted approach to music, coupled with his revivalist philosophy which has immortalised the original late Ijaw traditional musicians of yesterday by reviving and popularising their achievements in music.

As a day dedicated to celebrate the talented  and digitally rooted Alfred on a global scale, May 20, 2025 will see Yenagoa city flooded with dignitaries  from all walks of life. Already, music lovers have developed restless feet, waiting for the great day that is rather too far for them as it is being feverishly counted off their waiting fingers.

Dr Izonebi Alfred is the accredited king of compositional versatility and excellence, a music legend distinguished from the crowd by his ceaseless music masterpieces and dramatic earth-shaking stage performances.
