Honourable Esosa Iyawe, lawmaker representing Oredo Federal Constituency in Edo State at the House of Representatives, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his “timely” and “strategic decision” to reconstitute the board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Honourable Esosa Iyawe, an engineer-turned-politician, said the move byTinubu signifies his agenda to transform the energy sector for the country’s long term gains.

The lawmaker ably representing the good people of Oredo Federal Constituency, highlighted that the restructuring of the NNPC board by the President will boost investment in the sector and engender diversification of the market.

Esosa Iyawe touted the move by the President, saying it will significantly increase Nigeria’s daily oil production. He expressed confidence in the newly constituted board of the NNPC to reposition the corporation for economic growth and development.

“I wholeheartedly commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his timely and strategic decision to restructure the leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC). This bold move reflects a deep commitment to reform, transparency, and long-term sustainability in Nigeria’s energy sector,” he said in a statement signed by him.

“The reshuffling is a clear step towards enhancing operational efficiency, restoring investor confidence, and driving the diversification of our gas market. These are essential pillars for economic growth and energy security.

“With the President’s ambitious targets of increasing national oil production by 200,000 barrels per day by 2027 and 500,000 barrels per day by 2030, the newly reconstituted leadership is well positioned to drive meaningful change and significantly improve the NNPC’s contribution to national development”, added Iyawe.

Honourable Iyawe concluded that Nigerians “remain hopeful for a more efficient, accountable, and prosperous energy future” under his “regime.”
