Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, have congratulated Prince Leke Adegbite on his re-election as Chairman of the Ondo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Governor Aiyedatiwa commended the smooth, peaceful transition that brought Adegbite back for a second term. He praised NUJ members for their unity and maturity, describing the election as a reflection of the union’s internal democracy and professionalism.

The governor also acknowledged NUJ’s support for his administration and expressed commitment to continued collaboration in promoting good governance and responsible journalism. He further congratulated Miss Precious Oluwole of TRACE News Magazine, a member of the Government House Press Crew, on her election as Assistant General Secretary.

In his address, NUJ National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, represented by Mrs. Aderonke Samo, Vice President (South West), lauded the peaceful conduct of the election and commended the outgoing executives.

In his acceptance speech, Prince Adegbite promised to continue safeguarding the interests of journalists in the state and build on past achievements. He also thanked union leaders from neighboring states for their support.

Sworn-in alongside Adegbite were: Mr. Meshach Olaoluwa – General Secretary, Mrs. Maria Famakinwa – Treasurer, Miss Precious Oluwole – Assistant Secretary.

Speaker Olamide Oladiji, in a personally signed congratulatory message, described Adegbite as a committed professional and expressed confidence that his leadership would further advance the union.

“Your re-election is a testament to your selflessness and unwavering dedication to your profession,” Oladiji stated.
