To instill financial literacy in children from early age, 9ijakids and Kidpreneur Africa, have partnered with Access Bank through Global Money Week 2025 vision, to reach out to over 100 schools across 10 states in Nigeria through interactive financial literacy workshops and hands-on applications of saving and earning principles.
With the theme “Think Before You Follow,” the 2025 Global Money Week campaign emphasizes the importance of sound money management, recognizing emotional triggers, and critically evaluating financial information to identify trustworthy advice.
In many of the schools touched, teachers, school administrators, and students have expressed their appreciation for the initiative, recognizing its transformative effect.
A headteacher from Community Secondary Commercial School, Akwa Ibom, shared, “This program has significantly improved our students’ understanding of savings, earnings, investments, and overall money management.”
Similarly, the principal of Best Heritage Islamic College, Kwara, expressed gratitude for the initiative, stating, “I would love to immensely thank Kidpreneur Africa and 9ijakids for the insightful initiative held in my school. The students gained valuable financial knowledge, and I believe it will shape the way they handle money. Global Money Week has equipped them with critical tools they need to thrive in the economic space.”
Mrs. Titi Adewusi, one of the campaign organizers, highlighted the broader vision, stating, “SMEs drive 70% of the economy, and we are passionate about equipping young minds with financial literacy to build the next generation of entrepreneurs who will power Nigeria’s economy.”
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to fostering financial responsibility among young Nigerians. Through Global Money Week, we continue to empower children with the knowledge and tools to make informed financial decisions, securing a brighter economic future for the next generation.
According to the Global Financial Literacy Survey, only 24% of adults in Nigeria are financially literate, highlighting the urgent need to introduce financial education at an early age. By equipping children with these essential skills, initiatives like Global Money Week are playing a vital role in building a financially savvy generation prepared for the challenges of the future.
