Firm announces nationwide expansion, calls for government collaboration

Rightive Homes and Properties Ltd. has announced plans to expand its real estate operations across Nigeria, with a focus on bridging the housing deficit in the Southwest region. Speaking at the Award and Thanksgiving Day event, themed “Pillar of Excellence: Diligence, Integrity Enriched by Culture,” the company’s CEO, Joseph Balogun, emphasized the importance of sustainable growth, integrity, and collaboration between the private sector and the government to tackle Nigeria’s housing challenges.

Balogun revealed that Rightive Homes aims to establish a strong presence in Lagos, Oyo, and other parts of the country over the next two years. “Our immediate focus is to start in the Southwest, bridging the housing gap that affects not only Nigeria but also West Africa. Over the next two years, we will be all over Oyo, Lagos, and beyond, launching initiatives to close this gap,” he stated.

Balogun called on the government to partner with private developers in creating policies that encourage investment in affordable housing. He stressed the need for stakeholder inclusion in policy-making, stating:

“Before introducing policies, the government and real estate practitioners need to come together and listen to one another. Additionally, the government can do more in terms of regulations to create an enabling environment for young developers to enter the sector.”

He further highlighted the importance of due process and company credibility, urging buyers to verify real estate firms before making investments.

As part of its expansion strategy, Rightive Homes announced plans to train young people, including undergraduates, in real estate to create employment opportunities and equip them with industry knowledge.

“Young people have the opportunity to grow in this industry if they remain consistent and follow the rules of the game. We will train realtors who can connect with potential buyers, investors, and landowners, ensuring that they benefit financially while contributing to the sector,” Balogun said.

Echoing this sentiment, Jasper Ogbonna, MD/CEO of 02 REALTORS Group, encouraged aspiring realtors to uphold integrity and avoid shortcuts that could lead to legal troubles.

“Success in real estate comes from selling good products and maintaining a reputation of integrity. Cutting corners leads to problems with the government and damages trust in the industry,” Ogbonna advised.

The event also featured notable figures such as Hon. Engr. Adebola Rasheed Shabi, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, and Nigerian music artist Mike Abdul, who commended Rightive Homes for its commitment to excellence and job creation.

Shabi emphasized consistency as the key to success, stating:

“When you set your goals, you finish the work and do it again. Consistency is what transforms effort into excellence.”

Meanwhile, Abdul urged Nigerians to celebrate progress, no matter how small, adding:

“Greatness is not in doing big things but in doing small things excellently. Rightive Homes is taking the right initiative by encouraging their staff, investors, and partners.”

With a clear vision to expand across Nigeria and West Africa, Rightive Homes is positioning itself as a key player in the real estate sector. The company’s call for government support and youth engagement underscores the growing role of private developers in addressing Nigeria’s housing crisis.
