A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Shehu Bawa ABG,has said that for his vision and revolutionary ideas responsible for transforming governance, especially the agricultural sector for which he clinged the Sun award, he has joined other prominent Nigerians to pay glowing tributes to Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State.

ABG in a statement expressed joy over Bago’s achievements that had attracted eulogies across Nigeria and beyond, earning him The Sun Governor of the Year.

He pointed out that the Governor since assumption of office in 2023, had initiated and implemented several programmes in collaboration with international development partners, resulting in positively changing the face of governance and making life better for citizens.

“Your vision, selfless commitment and tireless passion and zeal to uplift your subjects to greater height cannot be over emphasized.You have proven to be a reliable leader, true son of the soil and above all, a compassionate Governor with the interest of growth, prosperity and development of his people at heart,” he said.

“Niger State people are appreciative of your milestone so far of making agriculture a cornerstone of your development agenda and implementing innovative polices that revolutionized the sector, earning you accolades from near and far,Under your watch, the Power State has witnessed significant investments in modern farming, irrigation techniques, farmer empowerment initiatives which have boosted food production, created jobs and improving the livelihood of the rural dwellers.”

“This award, many others before it and many more to come will serve as pointers to the fact that you’re a good leader and your people are very proud of you,” ABG added.
