Olamide Oloyede: Redefining business analysis and cybersecurity with a global perspective

By Rukome Kemena

In an industry often driven by credentials and certifications, Olamide Oloyede is showing that clarity of purpose and commitment to service can be just as powerful.

With over a decade of experience across business analysis, cybersecurity, and security operations, Oloyede’s career has moved from grassroots support roles to designing enterprise-wide solutions. His journey spans countries, cultures, and challenges, yet one theme remains constant: a mindset built on structure, service, and strategic thinking.

“I’ve always believed that every problem has a pattern behind it,” he says. “When you fully understand the system, you have the confidence and ability to change the outcome.”

Currently providing technical support while pursuing advanced studies in network systems and cybersecurity, Oloyede continues to build on his foundation while staying active in real-world IT environments. He resolves user issues, collaborates across departments, and supports infrastructure stability with a calm, problem-solving approach.

He first stepped into security operations at a government agency, working on property inspections and enforcement systems. “It was very field-based and policy-driven,” he recalls. “But it taught me how to look at systems from the ground up, not just what’s on paper but how things actually work in motion.”

As he advanced into roles like Security Operations Officer and Technical Analyst, he became known for translating high-level strategies into workable solutions. He wrote procedures, designed dashboards, and conducted post-incident reviews. His strength was in creating alignment between leadership, frontline teams, and operational systems.

Later, as Head of Security Operations and Business Analyst at an investment company, he led a team of 15 and introduced a new Security Operations Center that improved incident response time by 60 percent. He rolled out AI-based monitoring tools and worked closely with compliance stakeholders to align systems with business goals.

In recognition of his contributions, Oloyede was honored with the 2024 CEOs Network Africa Award for Technology and Innovation. This prestigious award highlights his impact on advancing cybersecurity and business analysis through innovative solutions.

“What I love most is seeing chaos turn into clarity,” he says. “Leading teams and creating systems that last has always been my goal, and receiving the CEOs Network Africa Award last year reinforced that impact comes from building with purpose.”

Oloyede’s academic background includes a master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Keele University in the UK, a bachelor’s in Sociology from Bowen University in Nigeria, and professional certifications in network systems and cybersecurity. He also holds an Associate in Applied Science in Computer Network Specialization (Microsoft) from Lone Star College in Houston, Texas. His training reflects both social awareness and technical precision, and he brings both into every project he takes on.

To him, business analysis is not just a technical role. It’s a way to create safer systems, more informed decisions, and stronger collaboration.

“In the security and tech sector, people think it’s all about tools. But I’ve found that listening is just as important,” he says. “You can’t build trust with code alone. You build it by solving the right problems at the right time.”

Olamide Oloyede is part of a new wave of professionals who see complexity not as a barrier, but as an opportunity. His career continues to inspire those who believe in building from the inside out and leading with intention, wherever they are in the world.
