The North East Development Commission ( NEDC ) has trained over 30 members of staff on better understanding of procurement procedure inline with the present Procurement law.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony for the participants on Saturday at Golden Sand Hotel in Maiduguri, the MD/ CEO of the NEDC, Mohammed Alkali, said participants will get to know that procurement process is not a one man business or a show having seen the synergy and interacting between departments and Units.
Alkali said job functions and schedules will be better understood using procurement-wise steps among departments and units after the training.
“Other sector specialist and non-procurement staff alike will appreciate the team work and the transparency nature of the result oriented planning processes. Participants will understand the techniques required in advert drafting and why criteria set in advert remained sacrosanct.
” As I present each one of you Certificate of Graduation today, we hope that you will demonstrate the knowledge learnt transparently so that no any anti-corruption agency will find us wanting in the discharge of our mandate in the North East”. Alkali stated.
Also speaking, the lead consultant for the workshop and General Manager of MK Square Global Concept Limited, Alhaji Dulomi Makinta, said the training will enable the participants to understand the need for serene environment, working tools/ materials and other office equipment during evaluation.
He added that participants will understand the nine (9) essential steps of procurement with value adding that service delivery will be made easy for all.
” Accounting officer will be in full control and picture of the procurement processes from day one . The training will make the commission to save time and resources in achieving its set objectives effectively and efficiently, ” Makinta said.
