‘Nigerian content on oil/gas working’

LAG0S- Nigerian  content has been described as a successful strategic national economic development tool and the completion of NNPC/Mobil Platform, for the first time in Nigeria, represents a significant milestone in building Nigerian capacity for the oil and gas industry.

Chief Henry Okolo, Vice -Chairman of Dorman Long Engineering Limited, said this at a briefing on the activities of the company and its recent successful completion of Oyot Platform for NNPC – Exxon Mobil Satellite Field Development. He commended the initiative and activities of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB.

The company, since establishment in 1949, has pioneered the development of national capacity in a comprehensive range of industries.

Looking into the future, Okolo stressed that Nigeria presents the opportunity to develop engineering fabrication capability with robust projects in the oil & gas, power and infrastructure sectors.

“What is urgently needed is to fast-track critical drivers for national development particularly the passage of Petroleum Industry Bill and mega size Oil & Gas Projects – Egina, Brass LNG, Bonga SW, etc which are currently undergoing FEED and contracting processes”, he added.
