ABUJA – The Chairperson of Bekwarra Local Government Area, Cross River State, Hon. Theresa Akwaji Ushie, has stated that her administration has laid a solid foundation for transformative governance during her first 100 days in office.

In a briefing with journalists, Hon. Ushie discussed her administration’s achievements and future initiatives, highlighting the collaboration between state and local governments.

Among the notable interventions is the provision of solar-powered boreholes in Nyanya Ward, St. Gregory Primary School in Ikanda, and Beten Ward. These projects have improved public health and reduced waterborne diseases for residents who previously relied on unreliable sources of water.

Additionally, Ushie’s administration has rehabilitated over 17.6 kilometres of roads across various communities, including significant routes such as the Okpeche-Adagom Road. These enhancements not only improve transportation efficiency but also stimulate local trade.

Ushie emphasised that these accomplishments are just the beginning of a broader development agenda focused on long-term growth. Her leadership is poised to bring lasting change to Bekwarra LGA.

With a strong focus on grassroots development, Ushie’s administration has prioritised projects that address critical challenges in water supply and road infrastructure.

She stated, “Governance must be impactful, visible, and directly beneficial to the people. These first 100 days have been about laying a solid foundation, and we are determined to sustain this momentum.

“Our focus remains on executing strategic projects that will drive economic empowerment and social development across Bekwarra. We are moving forward with a clear roadmap for progress, and my tenure will mark a defining era of transformation, positioning Bekwarra LGA on a trajectory of sustainable development, inclusivity, and prosperity.”
