The Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, MHWUN, has directed its members nationwide to strictly comply with the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, actions against the telecommunications companies to protect the hike in tariff.
In a circular by its General Secretary, Auwula Kiyawa, dated January 12, the union wrote among others, “In furtherance to the Resolution of the Central Working Committee meeting of Nigeria Labour Congress held on 11th February, 2025 at Lokojo, Kogi State, directing all Affiliates to boycott the services of MTN, AIRTEL, and GLO daily between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, beginning from Thursday, February, 13th, 2025 to the end of February 2025, as a first step in resisting the arbitrary 50 percent tariff hike, State Councils are directed to immediately mobilize our members to comply with this resolution strictly.
“Accordingly, you will be communicated on further actions regarding other resolutions of the NLC as contained in the Communique referenced.
“While counting on your usual cooperation, kindly communicate to the National Vice President, NVP, of your Zone on any challenge in this regard for immediate attention.”
