Katsina state’s Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested a former Permanent Secretary and five others for alleged misappropriation of public funds.

The suspects, including Alhaji Muheeb Ibrahim Bamidele, who previously served as Permanent Secretary of the Department of Banking and Finance and currently holds the position of Permanent Secretary at the Katsina Local Government Service Commission, are accused of embezzling N136,126,970 from their department’s account.

In a statement issued on Monday, Dr. Jamilu Abdulsalam, Executive Secretary of the Katsina Anti-Corruption Commission, confirmed the arrests. He noted that the Commission is investigating the matter to uncover all the details and ensure accountability.

Dr. Abdulsalam assured that further updates will be made available as the investigation progresses.
